  1. The Executive Director of Inchelium Language and Culture Association is Stevey Seymour. Stevey is an advanced beginning speaker of Salish. Stevey Studied Sociology and Native American Studies at Eastern Washington University. She served on the Colville Tribal Business Council, and is a tireless advocate for the Salish people of the Inchelium District of the Colville Indian Reservation

  2. The current Board President is Shelly Boyd (Colville). Shelly is an advanced intermediate fluent apprentice speaker of Salish, and holds a master’s degree in educational counseling from Gonzaga University. She is a bold language revitalization activist and has strong cultural connections in the Salish communities of Inchelium and on the Colville Indian Reservation. She is one of the original co-founders of the Inchelium Language and Culture Association.

  3. The Board Vice President is Wendy Phillips (Colville). Wendy is an intermediate speaker of Salish. She has extensive training and experience in early childhood education, and is a tribal advocate for special needs children. She works as the Manager of the Inchelium Childcare Center.

  4. The Board Secretary/Treasurer for ILCA is LaRae Wiley (Colville). LaRae is an advanced fluent speaker of Salish. She holds BA and BAed degrees from Eastern Washington University and is a Washington State Certified Teacher. For the past thirteen years, LaRae has dedicated her life to Salish language revitalization. She currently works as the Executive Director of Salish School of Spokane.

  5. Julie Phillips (Colville) is a Board Member at large. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Eastern Washington University. She is an advanced beginning speaker of Salish, and a life-long resident of Inchelium.

  1. Trudi Tonasket (Colville) is a Board Member at large. She is a certified Colville Salish teacher, and works as a Salish teacher in the Inchelium Public School system. She is an accomplished Native artist and farms more than 600 acres with her husband.

  2. Michael Humiston is a board member at large. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Michael works as a staff attorney for the Colville Confederated Tribes. The ILCA Board of Directors will oversee the performance of the Executive Director/Project Coordinator during the implementation of the project.
